What a dark and dreary start we have all had to 2016
Don't know about you but when we get in at night the first thing we do is put on the kettle and get all warm and cozy. You would have a hard job doing that without electricity!

They say moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do.
But if you really want to see stress - try moving your studio!
It's a veritable minefield of things to consider and to do.
Touch wood, it's Wednesday and we seem to be settling into Hamilton House just fine. The views from the studio window may have changed but they are still splendid...
I don't want to say that having a cafe next door with lots of lovely home baking influenced our move to the Strathaven Rural Centre but it sure can't hurt. Either that or the fact that if it's good enough for Princess Anne, it's good enough for Laughlin Allan the Third of Strathaven!

Loving the use of tartan and some old school arcade fun this week from Irn Bru as they launch the "BRUland Games"
They have two games available - Pumping Irn or Toss the Girder.
Pumping Irn is a throwback to the old ‘button bash’ arcade games where entrants are asked to hit the left and right arrows on their keyboard to help a kilt-wearing weightlifter complete as many bench presses as possible within 30 seconds.
Toss the Girder is less strenuous and only requires the user to throw a girder across the Scottish landscape using the computer’s mouse.

Despite the fact that our garden ice cream freezer is still available to dispense tasty ice cream or should that be ice scream! none of our little feathered friends seemed to be keen on trying a stawberry lolly...
Instead they peer in the studio window waiting on me to put thier breakfast out. No breadcrumbs for this lot, they prefer cornflakes. Who am I to argue with a hungry wood pigeon...
The shrubs are making me smile, they look like they are covered with cotton wool balls instead of snow...
As I type this, the rain is starting to fall, so the garden will doubtless be a slushy mess by lunchtime
but at least it will be back to business as usual for the birds

For the youngsters out there, this will be a strange concept, but back in the day long before the arrival of computers and the mighty internet, most of us creative types were making lovely things by hand. Back then, when you wanted to show clients a proof, you had to physically go and see them with it. I must have spent endless hours driving back in forth between the studio and clients.
This flashback struck with with great force this week when we finished an amazing new CMS site for Eastbridge Investments PLC.
From toffee town to the City of London, Island of Jersey and all points in between, proofs were fired back and forward by email, all without me having to leave the comfort of my chair!
If this was 25 years ago, I'd still trying to get a boat or a plane back from Jersey.
As it is, the site up with minimum fuss and everyone, everywhere is happy.
